Session Seventeen: Shopping Episode, Part Two

A couple sessions ago, the group did the shopping rounds. Last week they went hunting to get money to buy all the things the had seen. So, this week, they made the rounds again, and I did end up making kind of an end of semester bazaar of strange magic items out by the Crystal Chateau. They had a great time identifying and buying a bunch of random things. We even ended up creating a Vestige of Divergence, but they didn’t have the money for it. They were very intrigued by the Bag of Wolves and the Bag of Abyssal Chickens, but I don’t believe they bought either. They did buy a pair of mushrooms to take one person to the ethereal plane and back. I’m going to need to read up on that Before they try some tricky stuff.

One of my random rolls was a Gauntlet of Valor. From the old Encyclopedia Magica. This was an armor set in 2nd Ed. which grew in power the more items that were collected – five in total, to create an arm piece granting ever increasing powers. So, since it was there, and why not, it will be a Vestige, should they ever get enough money to purchase it and begin the quest for the remainder. It’s ridiculously expensive, though, so. Might have to go hunt down a dragon’s hoard to pay for it. This group is not in the thieving business.

The Mirror Book is coming fully into play, as well. I’ve had to decide who owns the paired book, and because it’s Kai’Osh Mirimm writing in it, how she will handle him. The player and the character are definitely the right match for this, making my task very interesting and tricky. So far, they have introduced themselves, but Kai’Osh doesn’t know who she is. And she has asked after the wayward Assembly member the party got arrested, to see if he will be honest with her. Well, will do, once we get to that point in the story. The book writing is happening on Discord, but the story didn’t get that far on the table.

We did get back on book after their shopping was done. Onto their second mission for the Allegiance of Allsight. Which went as poorly as it was supposed to, but it was really late by that point, so the battle only just ended before we broke for the night. I need to get into the NPC and figure out how to make this make sense without being weirder than it is. Then toss them the second mission for the Cobalt Soul, so they can finish up introductions, and then make a decision about their loyalty.
